In March 2019, Freiburg alumna Sarah Stephens will be offering introductions to two new operas at the Metropolitan Opera, this time from Wagner’s legendary Ring Cycle: Das Rheingold and Die Walküre.

If you’ve been curious to learn more about Richard Wagner and his music, now’s your chance. Wagner is Sarah’s expertise and she is delighted to give you a closer look at what made his music so revolutionary, and continues to make it compelling and relevant to this day.

We’ll see director Robert Lepage’s innovative, controversial staging (2010) of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen that’s returning to the MET with a stellar, world-class cast: Christine Goerke as Brünnhilde, Greer Grimsley as Wotan, Eva-Maria Westbroek as Sieglinde, Stuart Skelton as Siegmund.

Tickets are reserved for Freiburg alumni for the first two of the four-part operatic Ring Cycle. There will be only one introduction to both operas on Thursday, March 14th.
