Join Friends of Freiburg for our upcoming discussion in the series “Virtual Stammtisch, Expert Perspectives.” We are honored to be joined by Wolfgang Mössinger, the current Consul General for Germany in Chicago and an Uni-Freiburg alumnus. In this one hour discussion, moderated by Dr. Jackson Janes, Consul General Mössinger will address his experience serving as a diplomat in Ukraine, the “new Cold War,” and the future of European leadership.

About the Speaker:
Consul General Wolfgang Mössinger was born on 17 June 1957 in Zell am Harmersbach, Germany. He is married and has two children. Since July 2019, he has led the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chicago. He completed his teacher training at the University of Freiburg in the subjects of German, French, and history. Since then, he has held various positions in the German Foreign Office, and has previously served as Consul General in Edinburgh and Donetsk.
